Information

Information is essential if people with learning disabilities and their families are to effectively take control of their lives. 

Being informed helps families to understand their rights and entitlements so they can have a greater say in decisions that affect them.

Information Days

Manchester Mencap can organise  Information Days for parents and carers, which give advice about how to make out a Will or a Discretionary Trust. 

This information is given by one of the few Solicitors in the North West who specialise in this area.

Representatives are also present from various appropriate services such as the Learning Disability Service, Direct Payments and Welfare Rights.

Manchester Mencap have produced a free leaflet for parents and carers which summarise the information given about Wills and Discretionary Trusts at these Information Days. 

Manchester Mencap have Information Sheets in Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati and Bangla.

Information packs about all of the different Manchester Mencap projects are available.
